Marketing Derby Bondholder, Mercia Image, have bought their latest piece of plant machinery, a MBO B30 Folding Machine, from Nyland Graphics in Heanor, continuing our commitment to providing clients with a full ‘in-house’ print and print finishing service.
Mercia already offer a full range of finishing services in-house, but with a huge influx of orders for direct mail, we decided to invest an additional £25,000 to increase the speed of our folding and mailing service.
Dan Kinnerley, Mercia’s Print Finishing Manager, said “The MBO B30 will now give us the capability of folding different formats and paginations for customers. It will double our folding capacity, at a higher running speed and will give an even faster turnaround of jobs. Plus, the machine will give us the opportunity to explore different types of folding work for our customers making us exceptionally versatile”.
Dan, who has been with Mercia for over 5 years, studied the specifications of machines available and proposed the exact machine to Amanda Strong, Mercia’s owner. Amanda was delighted to find the perfect dealership right on the doorstep in Heanor. “We made a commitment to support local businesses many years ago”, she said “and were delighted to negotiate a great deal with Nyland Graphics, who have provided us with an excellent service. Folding is a key part of our finishing operation and especially for Direct Mail which is a huge part of our business – as everyone is now moving back to Direct Mail following the decline in electronic marketing”.
The latest investment is on top of the £120,000 Mercia spent on new equipment back in 2016. “It is important to offer our clients the most up to date technology and ideas for their marketing” Amanda continued “so we are constantly investing to improve our offering and to excite customers in just what they can achieve”.
Mercia Image Print are Derby’s longest and most established commercial printer. We offer a vast array of ‘in-house’ printing and finishing services. This latest investment will increase production capacity and in turn ensure all client deadlines are achieved.
