About Mercia Image

Derbyshire success story

Mercia Image Print, the Little Eaton based Printers, established in 1989, are a real Derbyshire success story.

Following a major investment, of circa £1.1m, into new machinery and purpose built premises back in 2008, Mercia have just invested well over £100,000 to complete Phase 2 of their development programme. This new investment sees the purchase of three addition pieces of machinery that will make the business more efficient, more profitable and more competitive.

The Print Industry suffered quite badly over the past few years, firstly, with everyone ‘having a go’ at desk top publishing and then the recession hit the Industry quite hard.

Amanda Strong, Owner and MD, has been at the helm since the very beginning, when the company first started in a spare bedroom, before moving to their first premises in the early 90’s and then the purpose built warehouse in 2008.

She has steered Mercia through the tough times with a dedication and commitment that has kept customers totally loyal. She knows that whilst the high quality standards are maintained, the business is well prepared to drive forward as the country’s economy recovers.

Over the past twelve months staff levels have increased by 20%. Mercia has made a huge commitment to the apprenticeship scheme, both internally and externally. They have appointed several apprentices and have invested significantly in the ‘When I am’ Apprentice Development Programme with Derby College.

The majority of senior staff has been with Mercia for the majority of their 25 years in business.

Mercia Image Print’s ethos is to always produce a first class job at a competitive price.

Our Passion for Print

Mercia has been producing high quality, cost-effective printed material for their clients for over 25 years. We have built an efficient in-house manufacturing process to develop, produce, store, manage and distribute a huge range of printed matter.

Amanda Strong, Owner and MD, is passionate about print and the image and brand profile good printing brings to organisations. A pre-requisite of anyone working for Mercia is that they embrace this passion and develop their own passion for print. There is no finer job satisfaction in the world than seeing a doodled brief from a client coming off the presses in a depth of intense colour, style and design.

Through long-term relationships with our clients, we have developed a deep understanding of their changing communication needs. We adapt and develop our business (personnel, equipment and technology) to widen the scope of our services to ensure we meet our clients’ changing marketing communication needs.
